AMHERST – The Amherst Town Green will be overflowing with Golden Retrievers on Sunday,

The event, set for 1-3 p.m., is organized by a local resident, Bill Swift, with the funds raised to benefit the animals awaiting adoption at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua.

The event will include a kissing booth, pool diving championship, awards ceremony, parade of Goldens across the Town Green and much more.

There is no cost for admission; however a $10 per Golden Retriever donation is suggested.

Owning a Golden is not a requirement to come watch the event, and any donations are appreciated. Although there will not be any on-site adoptions, attendees can to talk to Humane Society for Greater Nashua staff and volunteers to understand their current availability.

Last year, nearly 40 Goldens and almost 100 people joined together for the event.
