Poetry Corner for Dec. 27

By Jeni Alden St. Laurent
Nashua
season’s wind
heard in the carols
from the outside in
a cheer calling
long this year
of crisis has been
it steeps the season
with crystalline reason
to chime in towers
and sparkle on windows
and gift with organic thought
whispers of kings past
pressed palms of need
giving respite
giving hope
elegant white doves
fluttering down
snow covered streets
falling arms wide
to embrace resurgent
Christmas Light
By Susanna Hargreaves
Nashua
There is a place that is Christmas
Where the memories last
where the music plays
and we can forgive the past
There are no worries
And there is no fear
Only golden light
and those we love so dear
Have you said the words
Have you said them clear?
Merry Christmas, Darling
Merry Christmas, Dear
Oh, I love you darling
You make me feel alive
Miracles can happen
All is right
You are such a beautiful sight
Surrounded by golden light
So open your present
There is a new year
Hope is alive
We can spread some cheer
Merry Christmas, Darling
You make me feel alive
All is well
All is right
Merry Christmas, Darling
Merry Christmas, Dear
Oh, I love you darling
You make me feel alive
Miracles can happen
All is right
You are such a beautiful sight
Surrounded by golden light
