Nana’s Diaper Drive

By Staff | Oct 3, 2020

Thanks go out from Nana’s Diaper Drive event volunteers, locals from left, Cindy ‘Nana’ Parente, organizer of the event; husband Michael Parente; Niki Stewart with son Connor Bernard; Nancy Murphy and Rosemarie Rung to dozens of benefactors contributing 6,917 diapers in 116 packages to the inaugural affair. The event, hosted Sept. 26 at Wheeler Memorial Chapel on Daniel Webster Highway, also garnered gifts of 956 baby wipes in 15 packages and three bags of baby clothing, plus blankets and other supplies. Parente said she recently learned of a national need for diapers and of the use-per-baby rate of around 10-12 diapers per day costing upwards of $70 per month. The bounty that she credited to ‘so many generous members of the community’ is destined for mothers in need through the group’s delivery to The Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter Inc.
