City man opens fire on Merrimack River partygoers

NASHUA – Nickolas Hanson, 47, of Nashua, was taken into custody on May 10 after he admitted to firing a gun at a group of people on the Merrimack River.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to Peach Drive where Hanson took responsibility for the incident.
After further investigation, police learned that Hanson fired the Smith & Wesson handgun as the group was playing loud music and partying on the river.
He has been charged with two counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
Hanson was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on May 11.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 14 years in prison, up to 10 years of probation and up to $8,000 in fines.
