BOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The worlds of superstition and myth will surely collide the weekend of March 27-29 when the Magickal Marketplace & Psychic Convention returns to the Boxboro Regency Hotel & Conference Center at 242 Adams Place in Boxborough, Mass., for its 13th year — the number 13 often signifying a powerful transformation to the world of magic.

The venue is barely a half-hour drive from Nashua along Interstate 495, south of Route 3. Celebrants this year are rejoicing that the MMPC has officially earned elevation into a 501(c)(3) non-profit enterprise, thus reinforcing its longtime efforts of community support through charitable giving.

A portion of every ticket sold will benefit the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Devens, Mass. The non-profit founded in 1983 is renowned for helping neighbors in need throughout the region and in New Hampshire.

Nashua author J.C. Artemisia, who has penned a dozen themed books, will be spotlighted at the convention. The mother of three and a well degreed educator, she is a pantheist with pagan roots whose banner at the convention introduces “Spiritual Books for Magickal Children.”

“We are all connected in some way,” said Artemisia. “When I write children’s rhymes to inspire nature-based confidence, I conjure up the feelings of stability and safety I’d experience when visiting an old Nashua landmark, the iconic weeping beech tree in Greeley Park.”

The energy generated by doing good for others continues on the stage with live music, singing and dance performances that include Zabel & the Zabellies — a lively belly dance troupe.

Keira Curtis, a Concord-based singer and featured MMPC performer, notes that these gatherings offer more presence and feeling than those performed in coffee shops or clubs.

“Metaphysical events are an overall experience,” Curtis explains. “You are immersed into the actual community on stage and off stage, rather than offering passing entertainment.”

Spiritual guides tune into the convention’s hum of excitement and curiosity with sessions from high-level practitioners including Bruce Hoskins, a featured psychic, and his daughter, Red, both from Derry.

Hoskins recently said that first-timers need not worry about arriving with specific questions.

“The most important thing is to keep an open mind, open to accepting whatever information is to be given,” Hoskins notes. “Remember that your free will always applies and it is up to the receiver to decide what to do with any information shared.”

This year, the artisans, psychics and vendors are expected to fill two grand ballrooms with exquisite wares and handcrafted works including crystals, hand-poured candles, jewelry, decor, magickal tools and related items of decor and apparel.

In addition, mediumship, tea leaves, aura photography, massage and reflexology will be explored. A Friday night Dance Showcase and Drum Circle are highlights. The event will be capped with a Candlelit Labrynth Walk and more advanced workshops.

More than 15 experts in tarot card interpretation, palm reading, astrology, bone casting, and reiki will be available for sign-up sessions in additional Regency conference rooms and various open areas.

Exclusive “After Dark” experiences will include a Friday evening limited “John Edwards-style” VIP Dinner with psychic medium Josh Simonds. An enchanting Superstition & Myth Masquerade Ball is scheduled for Saturday night.

Seasoned practitioners and curious seekers alike surely will find that the Magickal Marketplace & Psychic Convention offers a bridge between the mundane and the mystical.

Vice President of MMCC Jeff Wade adds, “It’s a place to learn about who we really are.”
