NASHUA — Jessica Campbell, staff development manager at Harbor Care Health and Wellness, was recently chosen as the recipient of the Emerging Leader Award.

“Jessica’s leadership reflects Harbor Care’s commitment to strengthening our workforce so we can better serve our patients and community,” said Henry Och, president and CEO of Harbor Care. “Her dedication to staff development directly supports high quality, compassionate care for those who need it most. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized at the national level.”

Campbell received the national award during a recognition event in Washington, D.C.

Since arriving at Harbor Care 10 years ago, Campbell has bolstered workforce training, professional growth and patient care.

“The work I do is really about supporting the people who show up every day to care for our community,” she said.

Campbell said that during the past few years, she has focused on expanding practices associated with trauma and recovery as well as creating a standardized onboarding process.

“I’m proud to have helped build the training infrastructure we now have in place from standardizing training systems to broader workforce development initiatives,” she said. “These structures ensure that staff across the organization are consistently prepared, supported and equipped to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.”

Campbell is now looking forward to capitalizing on her achievements at Harbor Care.

“I know there is still much more work ahead,” she said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to continue strengthening and sustaining these systems so that this progress endures and supports our workforce and community for the long-term.”

Prior to joining Harbor Care, Campbell interned at Boston Medical Center, Elliot Hospital and Nashua Children’s Home.

Campbell holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Curry College, a Human Resources Certificate from the University of New Hampshire, a Master’s degree in mental health counseling from Northern Vermont University and a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and addiction studies from Southern New Hampshire University.

Established in 2007, the Emerging Leader Award honors young professionals whose work “advances the mission of community health centers and improves health outcomes for medically underserved populations.”

The accolade also recognizes Dr. H. Jack Geiger and Count Gibson, who, in December 1965, co-founded the Columbia Point Health Center in Boston, the nation’s first community health center.

Currently, more than 33 million patients receive care from 1,400 community health centers nationwide.
