Massachusetts man charged with Hudson burglary

HUDSON — Gary Mercer, 31, of Stoneham, Mass., was taken into custody on Dec. 18 in connection with a burglary that allegedly occurred in September.
According to the Hudson Police Department, Mercer entered a residence at night and reportedly stole personal property that belonged to the victim. Investigators also determined that Mercer was out on bail at the time of his arrest.
He has been charged with burglary and breach of bail.
Mercer was held on preventative detention at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Dec. 19.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 16 years in prison, up to five years of probation and up to $6,000 in fines.
