Derry woman charged in jewelry store theft

NASHUA – Sarah Goulet, 28, of Derry, was taken into custody on Sept. 24 in connection with an alleged jewelry store theft.
According to the Nashua Police Department, on Aug. 2, officers responded to Day’s Jewelers at 567 Amherst St. and were told that Goulet had asked to try on a necklace. However, once she was wearing the necklace, Goulet allegedly ran out of the store without paying for the item.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division continued the investigation and charged Goulet with theft by unauthorized taking of more than $1,501.
Goulet was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Oct. 22.
Under state law, if convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
Goulet was arrested on Sept. 17, by Manchester Police for shoplifting. She was also arrested by Hampstead Police in 2017 for transporting drugs in a motor vehicle.
