City man charged in domestic disturbance

NASHUA – Carlos Contreras Perez, 35, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Sept. 14 in connection with a domestic disturbance.

According to the Nashua Police Department, Contreras Perez assaulted the victim and inflicted non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Special Investigations Division continued the investigation and charged Contreras Perez with second degree assault-domestic violence, aggravated felonious sexual assault, false imprisonment-domestic violence, obstructing report of crime or injury and two counts of simple assault.

Based on the nature of his charges, Contreras Perez was not eligible for bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 15.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 31 years in prison, up to five years of probation and up to $12,000 in fines.
