Nashua man charged in Main Street robbery

NASHUA – Brandon Chellis, 20, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Sept. 3 in connection with a robbery on Main Street.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to Citizens Bank, 238 Main St. at 5 a.m. The victim told police that Chellis approached him after he withdrew money from the ATM and allegedly demanded the cash. Chellis also reportedly led the victim to believe that he was armed with a gun.
Chellis was unable to obtain the man’s money and fled the scene. However, officers found him a short time later and placed him under arrest.
Although the victim believed that Chellis was armed, police did not find any weapons at the scene.
Chellis has been charged with robbery and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 3.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
