NASHUA – Gov. Kelly Ayotte recently joined families, community leaders, the Nashua Police Athletic League and AT&T to distribute 100 refurbished laptops and backpacks to students from Nashua and Manchester.

The donation, funded through a contribution from AT&T, is part of an effort to bridge the digital divide for New Hampshire families.

“In addition to protecting and serving our communities, our law enforcement officers go above and beyond every day to give back and help those in need,” Ayotte said during the Aug. 14 event. “I’m grateful to see this partnership between Nashua PAL and AT&T provide students headed back to school with the tools they need to be successful in the classroom.”

“This generous contribution from AT&T is more than laptops. It’s a door to opportunity for Nashua’s youth,” said Shaun Nelson, executive director of Nashua PAL. “For many of our youth, access to reliable technology is a major barrier to academic and personal success. We’re incredibly grateful to AT&T for their commitment to equity and so proud to partner with them to help bridge the digital divide in Nashua and beyond.”

“AT&T is proud to collaborate with organizations like Nashua PAL to help close the digital divide in New Hampshire,” said John Emra, president of the AT&T Atlantic Region. “Access to connectivity is vital in helping to bridge the digital divide and we are glad we can provide these resources to those that need them most. Thank you to Governor Ayotte for her dedication to getting New Hampshire families connected, and to everyone at Nashua PAL for all they do in the community.”
