United Way offering free tech support and classes

By Staff | Oct 15, 2025

NASHUA – The United Way of Greater Nashua recently announced a new initiative providing free, in-person, one-on-one technology support as well as free computer and device classes.

This program is designed to help residents gain confidence using phones, tablets and computers for everyday tasks such as emails, online forms and video calls.

“Technology is essential in today’s world, but it can feel overwhelming for many people,” said Sara Ceaser, United Way’s director of volunteer and community engagement. “Our volunteers are here to provide patient, friendly guidance, whether it’s a one-on-one session or a group class. We want everyone in our community to feel confident using their devices.”

Residents can schedule one-on-one appointments with trained volunteers at the United Way, local public libraries and partnering nonprofit organizations. Volunteers provide step-by-step guidance, ensuring no question is too small.

In addition to individual sessions, the United Way has free, small-group classes at its office to teach residents how to navigate computers, tablets and smartphones as well as staying safe online and accessing local resources. Interested participants can register online at unitedwaynashua.org/free-digital-literacy-classes.

“Even small victories, like sending an email or learning how to download an app–can make a big difference,” said Michael Apfelberg, president of the United Way of Greater Nashua. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see someone gain confidence with technology.”

The United Way encourages anyone who struggles with technology or wants to improve their skills to take advantage of this free support and learning opportunity. By helping residents use devices effectively, the program promotes connection, independence and access to essential services.
