Nashua man charged in gas station robbery

NASHUA – Andrew Flaherty, 35, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Aug. 3 in connection with a robbery at Sunnyside Stop Gas Station.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to the gas station at 270 West Hollis St. and were told that Flaherty had stolen candy and soda.
At the time of the incident, a store employee allegedly followed Flaherty into the parking lot and tried to recover the stolen items. During the encounter, Flaherty pulled away and reportedly lacerated the employee’s hand.
Flaherty has been charged with robbery.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
Flaherty was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Aug. 4.
