Wisconsin man charged in Ledge Street domestic disturbance

NASHUA – Joseph Murphy, 36, of Wausau, Wis., was taken into custody on June 24 following an alleged domestic assault.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers responded to Ledge Street on June 23 where a victim reported being hit in the head by Murphy “multiple times.” The victim also told police that Murphy choked them and nearly caused them to pass out.
Detectives with the Special Investigations Division continued the investigation. They charged Murphy with 14 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, second degree assault (strangulation) – domestic violence, simple assault – domestic violence and domestic violence – false imprisonment.
Murphy was held on preventative detention and was arraigned in Nashua District Court on June 24.
Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 219 years in prison, up to 75 years of probation and up to $64,000 in fines.
