Registration open for YMCA Summer Camps

By Staff | May 27, 2025

NASHUA – As the days grow longer and warmer, the YMCA of Greater Nashua invites families to enroll their children in its 2025 Summer Camps, where outdoor play and adventure await.

With camps running from June 23 through Aug. 29, there is still time to register and provide your child with a summer filled with growth, friendship and fun. The YMCA emphasizes the importance of outdoor play in children’s development. Engaging in outdoor activities has been shown to improve physical health, enhance social skills, boost creativity and reduce stress. Additionally, summer camp at the YMCA offers unstructured outdoor play so children can explore, take risks in a safe and secure environment and develop resilience, all of which contributes to their overall well-being.

Designed for children entering grades 1-6, the Merrimack YMCA Day Camps emphasize skill development, character building and friendship. Camp Create offers specialty camps in visual and performing arts, including acting, art, dance, gymnastics and painting. Camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with optional extended care from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tailored for young athletes entering grades 1-12, the Westwood Park YMCA Sports Camps focus on individual skill development and team sportsmanship. Campers can participate in sports such as basketball, flag football, volleyball, ninja obstacle courses, and soccer, all within a state-of-the-art indoor sports facility. Most camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with optional extended care from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For preschoolers ages 3-5, the Nashua YMCA Little Investigators Camp offers themed weeks filled with storytelling, nature exploration, science experiments and water play. Themes include Nature Week, Water Wonderland and Dinosaur Week among others. Camps run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Naticook, Camp Sargent in Merrimack offers children entering grades 1-12 a traditional day camp experience. Activities include swimming, boating, archery, arts and crafts, and nature exploration. Specialty camps focus on interests such as acting, archery, farming and fitness as well as themed camps for Harry Potter and Pokémon. Camp operates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with optional extended care from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In preparation for this year’s summer camp season at Camp Sargent, based on camper feedback from past years, we’re working on major enhancements to make camp more comfortable, welcoming and fun for every camper. From a full remodel of the waterfront bathroom to building a brand-new wraparound porch on the Recreation Hall, installing shaded sail areas in front of the Art Cabin and expanding the archery deck for even more bullseye fun.

The YMCA of Greater Nashua is committed to making summer camp accessible to all families. Through the Y Cares Financial Assistance Program, eligible families can receive support to ensure their children have the opportunity to attend camp. For details and to begin the application process, visit the Financial Assistance page on the YMCA’s website: https://nmymca.org/financial-assistance.

Registration for all camps is available online at nmymca.org/summercamps. Families are encouraged to register soon, as spaces are filling quickly.
