NASHUA – A fun-lovin’ posse of celebrants recently tipped their cowboy hats and loaded up their wallets to support Merrimack’s Community Hospice House (CHH), an esteemed nonprofit stewarded by Home Health & Hospice Care (HHHC).
Together, they shared in the 25th Anniversary of CHH with a BBQ Dinner Party hosted by HHHC on April 28 at Lost Cowboy Brewing Co., 546 Amherst St.
“We are honored to celebrate 25 years of trusted care at our Community Hospice House,” said Barbara Lafrance, president and CEO of HHHC. “We have been privileged to provide compassionate care for thousands of patients and countless families and friends who found peace and support there at their most difficult time.”
Some rip-roarin’ guitar riffs ricocheted through the 350-seat brewpub, courtesy of the Nate Ramos Band Duo — Nate Ramos of Plymouth, Mass., and A.J. Ottino of Worcester, Mass. They perform at events throughout New England as skilled singers and songwriters.
The Lost Cowboy brewpub’s buffet of barbecued spare ribs, brisket and glazed chicken beckoned alongside baked beans, crispy coleslaw, veggies and other vittles. Butter-creamed cakes, cheesecakes and cookies followed. India Pale Ale (IPA) varieties, pilsners, lagers and other libations whetted whistles parched by the trail dust of Amherst Street.

The chuck wagon masters in the open-view kitchen won kudos. Chef and Owner Michael Buckley and Vice President Ian Buckley surely are replicating the wild west atmosphere and culinary nuances reportedly embraced on visits there.
Mid-stream of the party, Home Health & Hospice Care’s Tina Andrade, director of philanthropy, wrangled a microphone to thank attendees and rustled up a pledge drive that generated a mother load of donations.
Andrade shared that her service to Home Health & Hospice Care spans more than two decades — and that she is retiring. Respected associate Paula Telage has earned the position as a veteran administrator of vast experience.
The proceeds raised at this event will benefit the compassionate services provided by dedicated staff and volunteers at the spacious 16-suite Community Hospice House in Merrimack.
