NASHUA – A donation was recently presented to the Nashua Senior Activity Center on behalf of the GenXpo, an event organized by the city’s Economic Development Office.
The GenXpo was geared for residents ages 50 and older and featured dozens of vendors and service providers with offerings for Gen Xers, Baby Boomers and beyond. It was held at the Nashua Center for the Arts on March 2.
After expenses, the organizers netted approximately $763, all of which was donated to the Nashua Senior Activity Center.
“We are thrilled to receive this donation,” said Margo Bell, the Senior Center’s executive director. “As a nonprofit, we rely on support from our community, so that we can better serve Nashua area seniors with our programming.”
This donation will be used to defray costs for the center’s third annual Kickoff to Summer Barbecue on June 19.
“Several years ago, we replaced the annual senior picnic at Alpine Grove with a barbecue at the Nashua Senior Activity Center, as a way to keep the event cost-effective,” said Judy Porter, the Senior Center’s development director. “In light of ever-increasing food costs, this donation will allow us to keep the ticket price at a very reasonable level for seniors. The event features not only great food but also great entertainment.”
The GenXpo organizers thank Silverstone Living, Southern New Hampshire Health and AARP New Hampshire for sponsoring this event.
