City woman charged with motor vehicle thefts

NASHUA – Karissa Scruggs, 32, of Nashua, was taken into custody on March 25 in connection with a series of motor vehicle thefts and break-ins last summer.

According to the Nashua Police Department, in August 2024, officers received numerous reports of cars that were either stolen or broken into.

After further investigation, Scruggs was reportedly identified as the suspect. While executing a search warrant at the address she had been using, officers found numerous items that were reported as stolen.

Scruggs has been charged with three counts of receiving stolen property – two prior convictions, identity fraud and the fraudulent use of a credit card for purchases up to $1,000.

Under state law, if convicted Scruggs could face up to 37 years in prison, up to 20 years of probation and up to $18,000 in fines.

Scruggs was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on April 30.
