Nashua man nabbed for identity fraud

NASHUA – John Strothers, 65, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Feb. 12 for allegedly using fraudulent documents to obtain a New Hampshire driver’s license.

According to State Police, the Division of Motor Vehicles informed troopers that Strothers attempted to use fraudulent documents and an alternate identity to get a driver’s license.

After furthering the investigation, police learned that Strothers had used more than 13 different identities to get driver’s licenses in several other states.

Strothers has been charged with identity fraud, unsworn falsification and tampering with public records or information.

Under state law, if convicted, Strothers could face up to 17 years in prison and up to $8,000 in fines.

He was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Concord District Court on Feb. 13.
