United Way of Greater Nashua to launch free one-on-one tech help program

By Staff | Dec 17, 2024

NASHUA – The United Way of Greater Nashua recently announced the launch of a new program offering free, one-on-one technology assistance to the community.

Starting the week of Jan. 6, 2025, Digital Navigators will provide personalized support to help individuals navigate technology challenges at various locations across Nashua and Hudson.

With technology becoming increasingly essential for daily life, accessing critical services, education and employment often requires a level of digital literacy that can feel overwhelming.

The Digital Navigators program is here to bridge the digital divide by offering practical, hands-on help for tasks such as setting up devices, navigating websites, managing email, using smartphones, accessing online job applications and connecting to virtual healthcare services.

Drop-In Digital Navigation Sessions will be held at the following locations:

-Nashua Regional Planning Commission, 30 Temple St. in Nashua on Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon

-Nashua Presbyterian Church, 1010 West Hollis St. in Nashua on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 p.m.

-Rogers Memorial Library, 194 Derry Rd. in Hudson on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1 to 2 p.m.

-H.E.A.R.T.S Peer Support, 5 Pine St. Ext. #1G in Nashua on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In addition to these sessions, tech help is also available at the Nashua Public Library through their reference librarians. Community members can book appointments directly with the library at nashualibrary.org/techhelp or by calling 603-589-4611.

Residents who are unable to attend the drop-in sessions can request assistance at a more convenient time by filling out a form, emailing TechHelp@UnitedWayNashua.org or calling 603-882-401

“We believe digital literacy is a critical tool for empowerment in today’s world,” said Michael Apfelberg, president at United Way of Greater Nashua. “Through our Digital Navigators program, we aim to ensure that everyone in our community has the skills and confidence to access the resources and opportunities they need.”

This initiative is part of the United Way’s broader commitment to fostering equity and inclusion through digital access and education. Those who are in need of tech help are invited to stop by any of our drop-in locations after Jan. 6.
