Allenstown mother charged with DUI with two infants in car
MANCHESTER – Shannon Lurvey, 37, of Allenstown, was taken into custody on the afternoon of Nov. 25 following a two-car crash at 20 Boynton St. in Manchester.
According to the Manchester Police Department, Lurvey’s 11-month-old twins were in the back seat, neither of whom were properly secured in their carseats.
Police also reported that Lurvey appeared “agitated and was uncooperative.” Her behavior led officers to believe that she was intoxicated. Lurvey continued to struggle as officers placed her under arrest.
The infants were taken to a local hospital for observation and were later released to a relative.
According to police, Lurvey’s Hyundai Elantra sustained “significant passenger side front end damage.” The other vehicle, a Honda Pilot, was minorly damaged and the driver was not injured.
Lurvey is charged with aggravated DUI – passenger under 16, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.
Under state law, if convicted, Lurvey could face up to three years in prison, up to $5,000 in fines and having her driver’s license suspended for up to two years.
