Nashua Summer Stroll to be held on July 27

By Staff | Jul 13, 2024

NASHUA – The city, in partnership with Positive Street Art, will be hosting the Nashua Summer Stroll on Main Street from 3-8 p.m. on July 27.

Positive Street Art will occupy a large section of Main Street and the lawn at Main Street Methodist Church, with live art battles as well as art and swag for purchase. They will also have several fun family activities including a chalk-paint car – donated by Best Ford and painted gratis by Precision Collision – for attendees to decorate; a mural project where everyone can contribute their artistic talents and a paint-splatter tent that will be messy fun for those who dare.

Starting at 2 p.m., Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from the East and West Pearl street intersection, to the Factory/Temple street intersection. The adjacent streets will remain open. Detours will be well-marked and managed by emergency personnel.

Nearly 30 vendor tents, several food trucks and treat purveyors and activities will be set up on Main Street for attendees to walk around and enjoy starting around 3 p.m.. The Main Street end of High Street will be designated as a Kidzone featuring fun foods, several skill games, arts and crafts and a mobile gaming van.

“We’re starting with a smaller footprint in this first endeavor, to gauge attendance and interest,” says Elizabeth Hannum, director of Economic Development. “If our two-block ‘mini stroll’ neighborhood party is popular, we can look into a larger event in future years.”

Hannum also thanked the early-adopter sponsors Nashua Community College, Renewal by Anderson, Wanderlust Therapeutic Services, Expert Design Solutions, Brar Family Dentistry and The Flats on High Street.

Live music will begin at 3:30 p.m. on the city’s mainstage, which will be set up near the Pearl/Main street intersection. The schedule will be:

3-3:30 p.m.: Theo Martinez, owner if HTM Dance, will give free dance lessons right in the street

3:30-4:30 p.m.: Latin Logic Salsa Band takes the stage

5-6 p.m.: Aces & Eights bring decades of experience and an extensive music catalog

6:30-8 p.m.: 4 R Souls drives it home with expert precision covers of classic rock

Positive Street Art will hold “the official after-party of the Nashua Summer Stroll” at Martha’s Exchange, 185 Main St. immediately following the live outdoor music. This two-floor event at Martha’s will feature your favorite party/club music from the 80s and 90s and is sure to end your night with a bang. Tickets for the after-party are available online at https://shorturl.at/R66gV.

Attendees can park for free at the two nearby multi-level parking garages – on High/Factory streets and on Elm Street – or on side street parking. No Parking signs will go up on the two blocks of the event site, so please be aware if you are downtown earlier on that day.
