LONDONDERRY – Justin Landry, 25, of Manchester, was listed in critical condition after his 2006 Infiniti G35 crashed in the woods along Interstate 93 south on the evening of April 23.

State Police arrived on the scene just beyond exit 5 at 6:56 p.m. and found Landry trapped in the vehicle which was lying on its side jammed between several trees.

The preliminary investigation suggests that Landry was “traveling at a high rate of speed” when he lost control of the vehicle. The car then crossed all four travel lanes before careening down the embankment and into the woods.

According to authorities, 12 firefighters spent 90 minutes working to free Landry from the mangled car. He was then taken by Boston MedFlight to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Mass. to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

I-93 south was closed for one hour as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.
