United Way to host ‘Coffee and Causes’ discussion on transportation

By Staff | Feb 9, 2024

MILFORD – The United Way of Greater Nashua recently announced its upcoming “Coffee and Causes” event tailored for older adults on March 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wadleigh Memorial Library, 49 Nashua St. in Milford.

The session will focus on the theme of “Exploring Transit in Greater Nashua,” offering insight into alternative transportation options.

The event will feature Donna Marceau, Mobility manager at the Greater Nashua Regional Planning Commission. She will provide expert guidance on navigating the region without reliance on a personal vehicle. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about various transportation resources, including the invaluable services offered by Souhegan Valley Rides, specifically designed to cater to the transportation needs of low-income individuals in that area. Janet Langdell of Souhegan Valley Rides will also be on hand to answer questions.

“Even if you don’t require assistance with transportation yourself, you may encounter individuals who do,” said Sara Ceaser, director of Volunteer and Community Engagement at the United Way of Greater Nashua. “Word-of-mouth remains one of the most effective means of disseminating information about vital community services.”

“Coffee and Causes” is a series of monthly talks for older adults with presenters speaking about services or opportunities available for seniors in Greater Nashua. These talks are always on the first Friday of the month at a different venue in Greater Nashua each month.

This event is sponsored by Ledgewood Bay Assisted Living in Milford.

Registration is open and can be completed online at http://tinyurl.com/Mar-Coffee or by reaching out to United Way directly at info@unitedwaynashua.org or at 603-882-4011.
