United Way to host volunteer fair on May 22
NASHUA – The United Way of Greater Nashua will be hosting the Greater Nashua Volunteer Fair on May 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Nashua Public Library, 2 Court St.
Residents will have the opportunity to connect with more than 30 local nonprofit organizations, each with a unique mission and a shared goal of making a positive impact. Whether your interests lie in environmental conservation, youth empowerment or social welfare, there’s a cause waiting for your passion and skills.
Discover organizations like Grow Nashua, committed to creating vibrant gardening spaces in downtown Nashua, The Caregivers, seeking compassionate individuals to deliver essential food supplies to homebound residents and the Girl Scouts, offering leadership opportunities and outdoor adventures as camp counselors. Representatives from these and many other nonprofits will be on-site, eager to share their stories and discuss how you can contribute as a volunteer.
United Way of Greater Nashua will also be present to showcase their extensive volunteer-based projects, including tutoring programs, Digital Navigators, Pop-Up Food Pantries, Food Drives, and Women’s Hygiene Supply Drives. Learn firsthand how you can make a difference in the lives of others through these impactful initiatives.
Additionally, don’t miss the opportunity to learn about serving on a nonprofit board! The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits will be offering presentations on this topic every 15 minutes throughout the event. If you’ve ever wanted to explore becoming involved on a higher level, we encourage you to stop by and gain valuable insights.
But volunteering isn’t just about giving back, it’s also an opportunity for personal growth and community connection. Did you know that volunteering has been linked to improved mental and physical health? Studies have shown that the act of helping others can reduce stress, increase happiness, and even lower the risk of depression. Plus, volunteering provides valuable skills and experiences that can enhance your resume and broaden your network.
Whether you’re fulfilling service hours for school, seeking to explore new interests, or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back, the Greater Nashua Volunteer Fair is the perfect place to start. With the support of local schools and the influx of new residents in the Greater Nashua area, there’s a growing demand for volunteers to meet the needs of our community.
