By Christopher Roberson - Staff Writer | Feb 4, 2024

NASHUA – Following a formal interview process, Nashua Police have released the names of the four officers involved in the recent shooting death of 40-year-old Heath Thompson.

They are Officers Wade Hansen, Cameron Hult, Conner Reynolds and Dakota Van Tassel.

According to police, officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 49 Marie Ave. just before noon on Jan. 20. The caller also indicated that Thompson was armed with a handgun.

Upon arrival, the officers reportedly found Thompson to be confrontational. This prompted Hansen and Reynolds to fire their patrol rifles while Hult fired his service gun. Van Tassel, the senior officer in the group with seven years experience, fired a less-than-lethal projectile launcher.

According to police, Thompson went back inside the residence where he was found to be “unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.” He was later pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
