The Merrimack donates $10K to N.H. Food Bank to help fight hunger

By Staff | Jan 13, 2024

CONCORD – Merrimack County Savings Bank is helping to fight hunger and its root causes with a $10,000 donation to New Hampshire Food Bank. The contribution will not only feed families and individuals across the Granite State, it will also support programming and education to those in need.

“It’s important to give back to the state’s only food bank as food insecurity numbers continue to rise,” said bank President Linda Lorden. “The New Hampshire Food Bank works with more than 400 agencies in all 10 counties to help provide our neighbors nutritious meals.”

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, an estimated 6.2 percent of New Hampshire residents experienced food insecurity from 2020 to 2022.

“We’re incredibly grateful for The Merrimack’s generous donation,” said Nancy Mellitt, Development director at the New Hampshire Food Bank. “Every donation makes a difference and goes toward our ultimate goal of eliminating hunger and improving the quality of life for New Hampshire residents.”
