By Christopher Roberson - Staff Writer | Dec 4, 2023

NASHUA – Omer Landry, 45, of Nashua, has been charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly driving the wrong way on the F.E. Everett Turnpike and colliding with a UPS truck on the evening of Nov. 30.

According to State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on the exit 5 northbound onramp.

The UPS driver, Fred Coffin, of Waterford, Maine, was reportedly hit head-on by Landry, who was driving a four-door sedan. Police said Coffin was able to come to a controlled stop before the crash occurred.

No serious injuries were reported and that section of the Turnpike remained closed for two hours.

Landry was taken into custody following a roadside investigation. In addition to driving while intoxicated, Landry is also charged with reckless conduct and operating an unregistered and uninspected vehicle.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough Superior Court next month.

Under state law, if convicted, Landry could face up to seven years in prison, a fine of up to $1,200 and having his driver’s license suspended for up to two years.
