Author Michael Tougias to speak at Nashua Library Nov. 12

NASHUA – Michael Tougias, a New York Times bestselling author, will be speaking at the Nashua Public Library at 2 p.m. on Nov. 12.

He has authored and co-authored more than 30 books including “Extreme Survival: Lessons From Those Who Have Triumphed Against All Odds,” “King Philip’s Indian War,” “The Waters Between Us: A Boy, A Father, Outdoor Misadventures & The Healing Power of Nature” as well as several true survival stories such as “Fatal Forecast,” “A Storm Too Soon,” “Overboard,” “Rescue of the Bounty” and “The Finest Hours.”

A graduate of St. Michael’s College, Tougias received the Editor’s Choice Award from the American Library Association for his book detailing an ocean rescue during the Blizzard of 1978 titled, “Ten Hours Until Dawn.” His book, “There’s A Porcupine In My Outhouse: The Vermont Misadventures of a Mountain Man Wannabe,” won the Best Nature Book of the Year from the Independent Publishers. Tougias has frequently appeared on The Weather Channel, 20/20 and National Public Radio.
