Merrimack Savings Bank accepting Mitten Tree donations
MERRIMACK – The Annual Mitten Tree Drive is officially underway at Merrimack County Savings Bank. From now through the end of December, all eight Merrimack locations will be collecting cold weather essentials to help keep the community warm during the long winter months.
“The Mitten Tree symbolizes the start of the holiday season at The Merrimack and giving back to our neighbors in need is how we get in the spirit,” said bank President Linda Lorden. “Last year, we collected 1,000 items and matched the communities’ support with a $3,000 donation to local food pantries.”
New handmade or store-bought mittens, gloves, hats and scarves can be dropped off at any Merrimack branch. For each item collected, The Merrimack pledges to donate $2 which will be evenly divided and awarded to the following food pantries:
-Friendly Kitchen in Concord
-Twin Rivers Food Pantry in Franklin
-Bow Food Pantry
-Hopkinton Food Pantry
-Hooksett Food Pantry
-Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter
-The Upper Room Food Pantry in Derry
