United We Sleep – an overnight experience on Amherst Street

By Staff | Aug 15, 2023

NASHUA – For the eighth year, the United Way of Greater Nashua will be hosting United We Sleep, one of the organization’s top fundraising events in which participants experience a night of homelessness by sleeping overnight with only cardboard boxes and similar materials as shelter.

The event is set to take place starting on the night of Sept. 22 and continuing into the morning of Sept. 23 at Nashua Community College.

This United Way fundraiser helps our community come together and learn how to advocate for youth experiencing homelessness and to raise funds to support their unique needs. Participants will learn how informed advocates can make a difference at a critical time in the lives of homeless youth.

The goal is for each participant to raise at least $500 and help advocate for the needs of homeless youth in our community.

As in years past, the United Way is planning a deeply personal and impactful experience. As in previous years, the funds raised go toward supporting our strong network of community safety net partners.

United We Sleep has raised more than $400,000 to date, funds that support various local programs that fight to break the cycle of poverty, hunger and homelessness.
