Plea deal reached in Merrimack Family Court perjury case
NASHUA – A plea agreement settled the perjury case of a Manchester woman who was accused of “knowingly making false statements under oath” that were “represented through counsel” while she testified in Merrimack Family Court.
Emily Plumer, 37, of 1095 Bodwell Road, Apt. 6, Manchester, pleaded guilty to one count of perjury-false statement under oath, in exchange for a 30-day jail sentence, all suspended for one year on certain conditions, one of which is that she remain on good behavior.
The other stipulation, according to Plumer’s sentencing sheet, is that she pay roughly $1,600 restitution, through the court, to the opposing party in the matter.
While the perjury charge is a felony, Plumer, as part of the agreement, entered the guilty plea to a misdemeanor-level offense.
According to the court file, the statements that led to the perjury charge against Plumer were made during a September 2017 hearing at the Merrimack court.
While testifying under oath, the documents state, Plumer “represented, through counsel, that she ‘did not have a baby in August, and/or did not have a baby at all,’ knowing the statements were false.”
