Man indicted in murder plot

Wanted police informant killed

By Damien Fisher - Staff Writer | Dec 22, 2017

NASHUA – A Massachusetts man already imprisoned for allegedly selling cocaine in Nashua is facing a new charge after he was indicted this week for allegedly trying to have a police informant murdered.

Dekara Anderson, 42, was indicted by the grand jury convened in the Hillsborough County Superior Court in Nashua on one count of criminal solicitation of murder. Anderson, who has a lengthy criminal history for alleged drug crimes, was indicted on the new charge on Tuesday. The indictment was made public Thursday.

According to the information filed in court, Anderson sent a letter from prison to someone named Asia Mills. The letter sought to have someone murder a confidential informant who was working with the Nashua Police Department.

Anderson was arrested in September on two counts of selling cocaine to a confidential informant. He was indicted on the drug charges, as well as a charge of witness tampering last month after he allegedly sent another letter from jail seeking to have the informant assaulted, according to court records.

Anderson is being held at Valley Street Jail in Manchester on $25,000 cash bail. He was arraigned on the drug charges and witness tampering counts on Dec. 7, but has yet to be arraigned on the murder solicitation charge.
