A rash of downtown car break-ins

By ADAM URQUHART - Staff Writer | Oct 29, 2019

NASHUA – It seems vehicles parked in the shadows of high-end apartment complexes such as Clocktower Place, Lofts 34 and the Cotton Mill are susceptible to vandalism.

On Monday morning, Nashua police began receiving calls regarding several vehicle break-ins at the end of Front Street.

Nashua Lt. Robert Giggi said the incidents probably occurred Sunday night and into early Monday morning. Giggi said he was still planning to review the reports about the break-ins.

At least eight vehicles were targeted, leaving several windows busted out, littering the pavement with glass. Work vans and cars were damaged during the break-ins, with some vehicles left with more than one broken window.

Giggi said officers were still working on those reports as of Monday afternoon. Nonetheless, the vehicles that were broken into were located in a parking lot at the end of Front Street, in the area behind Cotton Mill, edging up against the Broad Street Parkway.

As Halloween nears, officials remain concerned of more possible vandalism. Last year, several vehicle owners throughout the city found pumpkins smashed through their windows in late October.
