South grad wins gold in SkillsUSA Championships

NASHUA - Ryan DuVarney, a 2025 graduate of Nashua High School South, was awarded a gold medal in architectural drafting during the SkillsUSA Championships last month in Atlanta. “Receiving the gold medal on stage is still playing in my mind, a truly unforgettable and unexpected experience,” said DuVarney. He said the competition, which was held on June 25-26, included a written test and specifications to build a house. “We had about seven hours to complete the house and all of its respective drawings,” said DuVarney. He is planning to continue his architecture studies this fall at Texas Tech University. “One of my favorite things about architecture is the creative freedom you have while creating a building or home,” said DuVarney. “My dream is to design log cabin style homes out west in Colorado and Montana.” SkillsUSA Executive Director Chelle Travis said ...
