Cross Street fire blamed for one fatality
NASHUA - A two-alarm fire broke out at 26 Cross St. on the morning of April 27 resulting in the death of Randi Gagnon-Davis, 43, of Nashua. Upon arrival at 7:25 a.m., firefighters struck a second alarm as heavy fire was observed coming from the two-unit residence. Lt. Thomas Lanzara, who was off duty at the time, was the first on the scene and was informed that Gagnon-Davis was trapped inside the home. Firefighters used several hose lines to attack the fire from inside the residence and knocked down the flames within 30 minutes. According to the state Medical Examiner’s Office, Gagnon-Davis was overcome by smoke inhalation and pronounced dead at the scene. Another female resident, whose identity was not released, was flown via Boston MedFlight to a Boston-area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her current condition has not been released.
