Sky Meadow survivor faces arduous recovery

NASHUA - Steven Burtman was on duty at a wedding reception when he was shot in the face by Hunter Nadeau at Sky Meadow Country Club on the evening of Sept. 20. A resident of Lowell, Mass. and Sky Meadow’s food and beverage manager, Burtman was flown to Brigham and Women's Hospital and was put under sedation for four days. During that time, Burtman, a Sky Meadow employee since March 2023, underwent two reconstructive surgeries. At this time, he is unable to speak and can only communicate through writing. Although he is expected to make a full recovery, that process will likely take several months. His friend, Joseph Chaitin, set up a GoFundMe page to help cover medical expenses.
