High School Highlights: Merrimack boys soccer tips North

Boys soccer

Merrimack 2, Nashua North 1

The Tomahawks (5-9) take the victory Friday night, with Carter Tess finding the upper left corner for the game winner. Jay Wozniak led off the scoring 28 minutes into the game, and a halftime score 1-0 Merrimack. The Titans (9-4-1) tied the game early in the second half, when Joey Morse found the back of the net.

Girls Soccer

Hollis Brookline 1, Merr. Val. 0

Maddie Harley was at the right place, at the right time, as she scored the game winner for the second consecutive game. The Cavaliers (9-3-1) keeper Maggie Crooks had a phenomenal game with 10 saves, including a game saving stop . Helping out in the shutout win were Sarah Birch, Christina Balsamo, Steph Menard, Abbie Ogren and Tasha White.

Milford 7, Manchester West 0

The Spartans (9-2-2) take a shutout victory for the second straight game. Ashleigh Matsis scored twice and Sophie Gill contributed a goal and played strong defensively. Finishing out the scoring Katie Lorden, Meghan Wood, Lauren Steck and Meg Sawyer.

Campbell 2, Fall Mountain 0

Karleigh Schultz (two goals) leads the Cougars (9-2-2) to their fourth win in a row. Autumn Thompson played well in the midfield to help in the

shutout.

Portsmouth 1, Alvirne 0

The Broncos played a strong game, coming up with several scoring chances, but faltered in the end. Gabbi Martino and Sara Ruigrok led the defensive effort.

Londonderry 4, Guertin 0

Erin Morris had eight saves and the Cardinals played title contender Londonderry tough, down just 1-0 at the half. Molly Finn, Grace Kelly, Sydney Driscoll and Hannah Lord all played well for the Cards

(4-6-3).

Wilton-Lynde. 3, Mt. Royal 0

The Warriors (8-4-1) secured a shutout win on their senior night. Elisabeth Jacob scored two goals and Sophia Sistachs added the third, for a Warrior team that had 20 shots on goal. WLC honored seniors Lexi Balam, Emma Skelley, Janel Bachand, and Jailyn Gilcreast.

Volleyball

Nashua North 3, Merrimack 1

The Titans (7-9) pick up their first win in five matches, defeating the Tomahawks (4-12) 25-17, 25-15, 22-25, 25-14. Atlanta Ho (11 kills, three digs, one ace), Abby Coy (eight kills, 14 digs, one ace), Haley Stanton (five kills, two blocks, two aces, four digs), Emerson Martin (21 assists, three aces, five digs) and Jamie Parker (seven digs, two aces) were the main contributors for the Titan squad. Despite the loss Joanne Bonner (14 kills, eight digs) and Anna Niezrecki (five kills, eight digs) put together a good day for the Tomahawks.

Dover 3, Nashua South 1

The Panthers (14-1) perfect season comes to an end at the hands of Dover Friday night. Kara Kelliher (16 kills), Brianna Henderson (11 kills), and Catherine Covert (10 kills) played well on offense, but the defense couldn’t play up to par.

Guertin 3, Londonderry 0

The Cardinals (12-2) get back on track, sweeping the Lancers 25-14, 25-15, 25-21. Julia Pascucci put in a complete game with 13 kills, five blocks, and 13 assists. Others playing well were Alicia Glasheen (29 assists), Maddy Keating (nine kills, 10 digs), Rachel Crowell (seven kills, two blocks) and Elizabeth Knapp (five aces, 10 kills, seven digs).

Hollis Brookline 3, Pinkerton 0

Kyra Belden had 30 assists and Elizabeth Atkinson had 12 kills, to bring the Cavaliers to a 15-0 record. Sammie Sheppard and Maddie Norris led the defense contributing 20 digs and 12 digs respectively. Kaleigh Whalen also had a good game with nine kills and eight digs.

Campbell 3, Fall Mountain 0

The Cougars (8-5) sweep the nigh by the scores of 25-19, 25-8, 25-15. Mallory Reczko and Ally McKenna led a balanced attack, with eight and six kills respectively. Olivia Garand had three aces and teammate Julie McCrady had two aces.

Field Hockey

Concord 4, Nashua South 0

The Panthers end their season with a shutout loss and a 2-12 record. Courtney Tello was great between the pipes making 10 saves, bringing her season total to 158. Seniors Emma Lynch, Calley Goulet, Emma Pucillo, Jo Coehlo, Vanessa Norton, Victoria Gates, Katherine Tello, Abbey Rowe and Liz Harrington were honored before the game.

Guertin 4, Timberlane 0

The Cardinals (9-4-1) shut out the Owls in their regular season finale. Guertin ended the first half up 2-0, with goals from Kennedy Wright (assist from Emily Foltan) and Lindsay Hult (assist from Foltan). Sarah Coyle started the second half off with a goal off a turnover, while Abby Ahearn would add the final goal with just under two minutes to play.

Goalie Monina Tosi had eight saves, with Emily Lisi, Caroline Carey and Athanasia Theofilopoulos playing well in front of their keeper

Windham 3, Merrimack 1

Hunter Webb scored the only goal for Merrimack at 14:38 of the first half as the Tomahawks now await their fate in the upcoming Division I playoffs.
