Nashua PAL Night of Champions set for Thursday

By Alan Greenwood - Staff Writer | Sep 14, 2021

NASHUA – For the first time, the Nashua Police Athletic League will hold its annual awards ceremonies at Holman Stadium on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

And the event also has a new name: The Night of Champions.

Held for several years at the Conway Arena, the Nashua PAL’s major annual fundraising event has moved to Holman in response to the ongoing battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, with its greater space for social distancing.

Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available along with games, a silent auction and a live auction.

Students, athletes, coaches and volunteers in Nashua PAL’s various sports and after-school programs will be honored.

The Giaquinto family is the sponsor of Thursday’s program. All funds raised will directly support more than 2,000 Nashua at-risk youths who participate in PAL programs.

WMUR sports reporter and anchor Jonathan Marshall will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Award winners include Explorer of the Year Nicholas Allard; Volunteer of the Year NPD Lt. Carlos Camacho; Coach of the Year Ben Desfosses; Cheerleader of the Year Kylee Flynn; Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year Matt Giardina; Junior PAL of the Year Junely Grullon; Football Player of the Year Jack Krulikowski; Basketball of the Year Nick Reyes; and Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year Laura White.

For the first time, the PAL awards presentation will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook.

Nashua PAL executive director Shaun Nelson has announced that PAL supporters Jim and Sherri Allard will match donations up to $25,000.
