BURLINGTON, Vt. — The Nashua Silver Knights closed out their 2026 season at Centennial Field in Burlington on Saturday in a game delayed by rain before first pitch, dropping the finale to the first-place Vermont Lake Monsters 14-5.

Vermont got on the board in the first on a Brenden Walsh (Endicott) RBI single, then added runs in the fourth and fifth on RBI contributions from Tyler Wiltsey (Rutgers), Tommy Popoff (Binghamton), Bryan Richman (Cal Poly Pomona), and a Wiltsey two-RBI double to go up 6-0 through five innings.

Nashua scored all five of their runs in the seventh on RBI plays from Peter Fischer (Saint Anselm), Adam Regan (Endicott), Josh Turcotte (Wentworth Institute of Technology), Mason Campagna (Penn State), and Ben Peterson (Saint Joseph’s) to briefly make it 6-5.

Vermont answered in the eighth with eight runs on RBI hits from Ryan Ruggiero (Bucknell), Colin West (Baldwin Wallace), Justin Yeutter (Cal Poly Pomona), Wiltsey, Danny O’Brien (Montclair State), and Walsh to put the game away. Nashua position players Nate Kearney and Turcotte pitched in that frame as the Knights brought a skeleton crew to Vermont.

Wiltsey finished 3-for-6 with 5 RBI. Walsh added 3 RBI. Alex Feeney (Drew) earned the win, tossing 5 shutout innings with 4 strikeouts.

Shaun Marsh Jr (Framingham State) took the loss. With the pitching staff stretched late in the season, position players Nate Kearney (Stonehill) and Josh Turcotte each took the mound in relief.

The Silver Knights finish the 2026 regular season in fifth place at 23-35 as the Lake Monsters improve to 42-16. Vermont will host No. 4 Worcester (29-29) in Game 1 of the best-of-three semis on Monday.
