NEW BRITAIN, CONN. — The Nashua Silver Knights traveled to New Britain Stadium on Monday night and rolled past the Bees 12-1 in a dominant performance from start to finish.

Nashua got on the board immediately in the first inning when Connor Smith (Gannon) hit a sacrifice fly to score Phoenix Williams (Mount St. Mary’s), and Peter Keblinsky (University of Southern Maine) stole home to make it 2-0. The Knights kept adding on inning by inning, with Keblinsky scoring again in the third on a Smith RBI single, and Adam Regan scoring on a Hunter Troiano (Gannon) error in the fourth.

Mason Campagna (Penn State) had a standout night, going 2-for-5 with 2 RBI, including a two-run single in the seventh. Caleb Vacchiano (University of Southern Maine) added an RBI double in the seventh as well. The Knights capped things off with four runs in the ninth to set the final at 12-1.

New Britain’s only run came in the fifth when Grady Schopps (Salve Regina) singled home Myles Gythfeldt (Colby College).

Ty Lohsen (Lasell) was sharp, tossing 4 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts. Michael Crowley (Assumption) picked up the win, tossing 3 innings and allowing just 1 run.

The Silver Knights gained a half game on idle Norwich (23-25) in the race for the final playoff spot and improved to 22-28 as the Bees fall to 29-19.

Nashua returns to FCBL action Wednesday night at LeLacheur Park in Lowell at 7 p.m., but head to Keene tonight for Game 2 of the Granite State Showdown vs. the Swamp Bats at 6:30.
