WORCESTER, Mass. — The 2026 Sports Legends of Holman Stadium Hall of Fame Class is now complete.
Mickey Gasper’s name is on the Sports Legends HOF plaque inside the front gates of Historic Holman Stadium, but on Thursday he formally received his induction award at Polar Park, prior to the Worcester Red Sox game vs. the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.
Making the trek to Polar Park to present Gasper with the award in a brief ceremony was Lions Club HOF Chairman Ed Lecius.
Gasper, while playing for the Nashua Silver Knights in 2016, hit .421 with nine homers and 42 RBIs and was hands down the Futures Collegiate Baseball League MVP and led the Knights to the FCBL Championship. That was his only season with Nashua but he certainly made his impact on the history of Holman Stadium.
He also was a story this summer, called up to Boston earlier this season and receiving near regular playing time, often at catcher, before being sent back to Worcester in late June as more Red Sox veterans got healthy. He hit .243 with seven RBIs with the Red Sox.
With Worcester, Gasper is hitting .331 with eight homer and 36 RBIs and had a walk-off hit Wednesday night.
Former Nashua Park-Recreation Superintendent Nick Caggiano and current longtime Telegraph sportswriter Tom King were inducted on July 4 at Holman.
