FOXBOROUGH, Mass.- On the day the New England Patriots begin mandatory minicamp, they have their top pick in the fold with one draft choice left to sign.

The team on Monday announced the signing of 2026 first-round draft pick T Caleb Lomu. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Lomu, 21, was selected by the Patriots in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the 28th pick overall out of Utah. The 6-foot-6, 313-pounder, played in 27 games during his college career with 24 starts at left tackle. Last season, he started all 12 games at left tackle and was named an All-Big 12 First Team selection.

Lomu has position flexibility, however, and the Patriots likely will work him first at right tackle with last year’s fourth overall pick, Will Campbell, the incumbent at left tackle and near certain to start the season there.

The Patriots are set to have minicamp today, Wednesday and Thursday. Originally it was to next week but was moved up a week presumably to avoid any World Cup conflicts, etc.

One thing of interest today will be to see if cornerback Christian Gonzalez and wide receiver Keyshon Boutte are both there. Gonzalez is seeking a new contract and Boutte is potentially on the trading block, especially after the trade for A.J. Brown. Neither have been at OTAs.
