Rivier Roundup: Innerfield, Walsh grab GNAC awards

NASHUA — Senior Nathan Innerfield was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, for the first time this season, after helping the Raiders to a 4-2 (2-2 GNAC) week. He hit .500 with a .571 on-base percentage and a .875 slugging percentage, recording a hit in every game. Innerfield totaled 12 hits, 7 RBIs, 7 runs, and 21 total bases, highlighted by four multi-hit performances.
The Weare native began the week going 4-for-9 in back-to-back non-conference victories, recording two runs scored, two RBI, and a double.
Innerfield picked up right where he left off in a GNAC doubleheader against Dean, going 2-for-6 while drawing two walks, scoring twice, and adding a double, a triple, and an RBI in the split. He posted an .834 slugging percentage and a .550 on-base percentage in the twin bill.
In the squad’s regular-season finale at Elms, he went 6-for-9 (.667) while drawing one walk, collecting five doubles, scoring three times, and driving in four RBI. He finished the game with a 1.250 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage.

WALSH GNAC ROOKIE OF WEEK
Rivier men’s lacrosse first-year attacker Conor Walsh has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Walsh posted six points on five goals and one assist in the GNAC Quarterfinals, leading the Raiders to a 15-4 victory over Regis (Mass.) on Saturday, April 25. The Amesbury, Mass., native recorded an 85.7 shots-on-goal percentage, scoring five times on six shots on goal.
Walsh and the Raiders return to action on Wednesday, April 29, when they host fifth-seeded Norwich. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Joanne Merrill Field.
