Merrimack’s Bike helps UNH to 88-83 OT win over Bryant

DURHAM – Redshirt sophomore forward Belal El Shakery recorded game highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the University of New Hampshire men’s basketball team to an 88-83 double-overtime victory over Bryant University on Tuesday night at Lundholm Gymnasium.

Merrimack’s Tyler Bike added 11 points, including the game-tying 3-pointer with 0.3 on the clock in regulation and two key free throws late in the second overtime to help seal the victory.

The 23 points were a career high for El Shakery, who made 11 of 15 field goal attempts and recorded his seventh double-double of the season in addition to finishing with a personal-best five assists and two steals.

Junior guard KiJan Robinson scored 22 points. He shot 9-for-19 from the floor, including 4 of 10 from 3-point range, and added two rebounds, two assists and a steal in the win.

Junior guard Jack Graham finished with 12 points and four rebounds. Sophomore forward John Squire was the fifth Wildcat in double-digit points with 10.

Keegan Harvey led Bryant with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Timofei Rudovskii added 19 points for the Bulldogs. Aaron Davis chipped in 14 points.

UNH improves to 9-20 overall and 5-11 in America East, while Bryant falls to 9-21 on the season and 5-11 in the conference.
