TRYING AGAIN: Raiders hope this is year for GNAC berth

NASHUA – The Rivier women’s lacrosse team, which opened its season Saturday with an 8-6 loss to Salem State, was selected to finish seventh in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) coaches’ preseason poll.

LAST SEASON

The 2025 squad narrowly missed a postseason berth, finishing 7-4 in conference play but posting a 3-4 mark in the North Division.

Junior attacker Sofia Cebrero recorded 50 points on 42 goals and eight assists, including four game-winning tallies, while collecting 23 ground balls and causing 14 turnovers.

Sophomore Ashlynn Ledoux followed with 36 points on 25 goals and 11 assists, while also securing 23 ground balls.

Sophomore attack Keegan McGaheran made her presence known defensively, causing 26 turnovers, while adding 13 points on nine goals and four assists.

Senior Bailey Carroll tallied six goals and five assists, while winning 12 draw controls and picking up 29 ground balls.

CAPTAINS

The team will be led by seniors Carol and Madelyn Poulton

NEWCOMERS

The incoming class features 12 first-year student athletes.

Two sophomores, Taylor Rioux and Lillian Wojcicki, joined the squad in the offseason, rounding out the 20-player roster.

SCHEDULE

The first road contest will be at Nichols on Vendetti Field on Wednesday.

GNAC play begins at Grant Field against Dean this Saturday. Other key dates:

Senior Day will be celebrated against GNAC opponent Albertus Magnus on April 11 and the regular season finale will be played at Joanne Merrill Field against New England College on April 22.
