Bryda’s two goals help Raiders down Framingham State

NASHUA – The Rivier women’s ice hockey team defeated Framingham St., 3-2, in Massachusetts Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action on Friday night at Conway Arena on Mental Health Awareness Night.
With the result, the Raiders moved to 14-8-0 (9-3-0 MASCAC), while the Rams moved to 3-17-1 (3-8 MASCAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
First-year Chloe Bryda fired home the first goal of the night 14:29 into the opening frame, giving the Raiders a 1-0 lead going into the first break.
At the 9:06 mark of the seconds, junior Rebecca McKelvey doubled the Raiders’ lead, connecting with first-year Maeve Kelly and sophomore Lillian Wojcicki.
Behind 21 saves from junior Taylor Bruno, the Rams were held scoreless into the third.
Framingham St. got on the board 10:58 into the third frame to cut the deficit in half.
Bryda went top shelf to extend the lead back to two on a power play opportunity at 13:49.
The Rams knocked in one more at 16:09 in a final push to bring the final to 3-2.

Bruno recorded 32 saves in the outing…Bryda led in points with two goals on two… McKelvey paced the Raiders with seven shots on goal, finding the back of the net once.
