It appears New England Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs will be able to stay on the field with the team for as long as their playoff run goes, even through Super Bowl LX if they go that far.

According to multiple reports, Diggs’ arraignment in the criminal complaint against him on felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault, originally scheduled for Jan. 23, has been postponed until Feb. 13. The original date was two days prior to the AFC Championship Game, the new date is five days after the Super Bowl.

According to reports, court records said Diggs’ attorney claimed he has a “previously scheduled professional commitment” on Jan. 23.

Whenever the arraignment takes place, the NFL has the option of placing Diggs on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, a form of paid leave. But it can only be considered, the league said, “following formal charges in the form of an indictment by a grand jury, the filing of charges by a prosecutor, or an arraignment in a criminal court.”

Last year, former Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was arrested in a domestic assault case during the regular season and stood trial during which the league placed him on the Exempt List for seven weeks.

There is another current Patriot, Christian Barmore, who also faces domestic assault charges, though nothing formal has been scheduled as of yet in his case.

The NFL says, according to a report, it is “not ruling anything out pending the legal process.”

Diggs has denied the allegations of the alleged victim, a female, his former personal chef.

At any rate, Diggs will certainly be on the field for the Patriots on Sunday night in their AFC Wild Card Playoff game vs. the Los Angeles Chargers at Gillette Stadium.
