Brown pulls away down stretch to upend UNH, 59-47
DURHAM – Junior guard Jack Graham scored a team-high 14 points but the University of New Hampshire men’s basketball team was defeated 59-47 by Brown University at Lundholm Gym on Wednesday afternoon.
Graham shot 5 of 9 from the floor with a pair of 3-pointers and two free throws; he also had two rebounds, two steal and a block.
Junior forward Belal El Shakery finished with 10 points and team-high six rebounds. Junior guard Comeh Emuobor also had six boards and scored six points. Junior Davide Poser scored nine points with three 3-pointers.
Landon Lewis and Brady Loughlin scored 17 points apiece for Brown. Adrian Uchidiuno also scored in double digits with 13 points.
Brown led 33-29 at the half, and 46-36 in the second half before a jumper by Graham at 6:24 and layup by Emuobor at 6:45 sliced the deficit to 49-45.
The teams exchanged jumpers until Loughlin hit a 3-pointer at 2:51 and Uchidiuno made a layup at 2:14 to push the margin up to 56-47.
UNH is now 2-1 at home and 2-5 overall while Brown improved to 3-5.
