The FCBL Playoffs have been absolutely wild.

With that in mind, the New Britain Bees are one win away from the 2025 title after their 1-0 walk-off 10-inning win over the two-time defending champion Norwich Sea Unicorns on Wednesday night before 936 at New Britain Stadium.

The Bees got the game’s only run on Cam Righi’s RBI single, scoring Jake Risedorf with one out in the bottom of the 10th.

The start of the game was delayed an hour 28 minutes due to rain. But for the Bees and the fans, it was worth the wait.

The Bees can grab their second Futures League crown with Game 2 set for Friday night at Dodd Stadium in Norwich after a day off today.

The inning began vs. Norwich reliever Cam Thomas with a leadoff single by Risedorf. Then after a strikeout, pinch-hitter Julius Rosado doubled and Brandon Gaer was intentionally walked. Leadoff hitter Righi (2 for 4) did the rest.

Each team had five hits. Norwich, seeded fourth, left seven on while the Bees stranded eight. Reliever Jake Harmony, who pitched a scoreless 10th despite one walk, got the win. Nashua’s Jeff Kleiner umpired behind home plate.
